King Richard (2021)
Genre: Biography/Drama
Me rates it: 4.1/5
Not gonna lie, I was expecting an entertaining piece not just for the African American community, but for all, and the piece is just that.
It’s an enjoyable watch about tennis legends and brings back to the time where racism most definitely was still a thing. (Not that it doesn't exist now). Really enjoy Wills character as this ever-loving father, having un-waverable belief in his daughters, with his almost shameless nagging way of closing deals and cold-calling potential coaches. I literally just found out it was 2.5 hours long, not sure how that sought up on me as the piece was not fast-paced. The story is excellent at drawing my attention and keeping me company along the way.
As always, try lowering your expectations, and just enjoy the movie together or alone.
