Impractical Jokers: The Movie (2020)
Genre: Comedy/Drama
Me rates it: 3.2/5
I gotta say the rating is mainly for the love of the jokers (the 4 dudes in case you weren’t familiar with). As a movie, it really didn’t make too much of a good impression. There’s been a few handful of disastrous movie attempts with popular TV shows breaking into the industry. But props to Henchy (the movie director) for managing to keep it attempt lighthearted, delighted to see the jokers doing what they did best on the big screen.
There’s just something about TV shows in the movies, something always hits weird. Not sure if you could call it a childhood trauma, but my parents used to despite watching Doramon or Snoopy in cinemas, often referring it to a waste of money or “we’ve got that at home”. Never quite seem to shake that feeling… What are your takes on TV shows being made into hour-long episodes?
As always, try lowering your expectations, and just enjoy the movie together or alone.
