Fight for tomorrow (2025) 《拼命三郎》Movie Review

Genre: Action

Me rates it: 2.3/5

Grade:If you are into HK 80s gang culture or you are looking for references for fight scenes

Adjusted rating: 2.9/5

The piece is decent overall, with most shots executed perfectly and fight scenes—though numerous—stopping just short of feeling overdone. While there’s certainly room for more realism, it remains a watchable film, which explains why it doesn’t deserve a lower rating, despite what I’m about to say.

The plot felt shallow and had me wondering if the movie might end at any moment. It successfully captured the feeling of “the first half of a dreaded dental appointment”—leaving audiences to ask, “How much more of this do we have to sit through?” By the halfway mark, that sense of endurance was palpable. The film would have benefited greatly from a stronger climax or meaningful turning point.

In conclusion, this was a solid display of the team’s technical ability to create visually impressive films. However, as a viewer, it simply wasn’t an engaging or memorable experience.

As always, try lowering your expectations, and just enjoy the movie together or alone.
