Cyrano (2021) Movie Review

Cyrano (2021)

Genre: Musical/Romance

Me rates it: 4.7/5

I know musicals are cheesy for some but romantic musicals just hits the right spots for me.

I haven’t been told the original story but this is definitely one that I wouldn’t mind watching again; and that I could only say to a hand full of movies.

After coming back for seconds and some research, here’s what I have to say about the musical: each scene is crafted with an essential touch that adds to the storyline and builds character bond, Dinklage’s performance hasn’t failed to impress and with Bennett playing Roxanne, it just works. The patient and caring poet’s love for Roxanne is on another level. Nothing like the good old love, where you waNna bE with heR and taKe caRe of HeR, but be willing and able to accept the fact that she and him is not to be, standing by her side and acting in her best interest just gets my waterfalls going.

But yes I got to admit the movie is much of a stage-y musical play and if you are expecting something else it might not be for you.

As always, try lowering your expectations, and just enjoy the movie together or alone.
