Afire《Roter Himmel》(2023) Movie Review

Afire《Roter Himmel》(2023)

Genre: Romance/Comedy

Me rates it: 2.1/5

This piece really makes me question myself. Am I uncultured? Is there too much of a cultural distance? I’m not German nor a writer(assuming movie reviews don’t count), so I find it difficult connecting to the characters, let alone keeping my eyes on the pixels on screen. I dare say this might not be for the general casual movie watchers.

Basically, what I’ve gathered is that:

The comedy - it’s supposed to be funny based on the tone and delivery

The plot - it’s confusing and you have to try to piece things together

The setting - a strong contrast between “warm/relaxed“ scenes and the on-going fire “cold/dangerous”

The takeaway - Embracing what’s around you

It’s much too abstract for my liking and the only comedy might just be me making a fool out of myself for setting a high expectation for this piece.

It might be a great movie, but with all due respect, it wouldn’t be one that I am comfortable recommending…

As always, try lowering your expectations, and just enjoy the movie together or alone.
