A Guilty Conscience《毒舌大狀》(2023) Movie Review

A Guilty Conscience《毒舌大狀》(2023)

Genre: Comedy/Crime

Me rates it: 4.3/5

The Hong Kong movie industry hasn’t been able to reproduce much success in the near decade, so it is quite intriguing to see another popping up.

Breaking 100M revenue and ranking 8th as of date just behind Titanic (6th) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (7th) in the Hong Kong movie industry.

The piece exposes corruption and overwhelming control of the wealthy in the 2000s of Hong Kong. A great sum of well placed plot twist makes character development natural and entertaining. Would recommend especially if you’re into legal drama and comedy.

As always, try lowering your expectations, and just enjoy the movie together or alone.
